Food for All - Servicing Families In Need
Students in Mr. Collins and Mr. DaSilva classes have been packaging food for families in need across Oregon. The program they are working with is 'Food For All" which started in 1997. Food For All collects donated food from local farmers and business and then repackages it in manageable family sizes. The food is then distributed to organizations that then give that food to families who are in need. Students have been packaging everything from pineapples to rutabagas. Last year Food For All collected over 300,000 lbs of food and this year it could be much more. This is a great opportunity for students to learn the importance of community service.
